One thing my parents said to me pertaining to relationships resonated with me in particular. They said something along the lines of: if someone wants to cheat on you, lie to you, or hurt you, let them. Let them do whatever they want, keep your heart and eyes open. Let them show you their true colors now, so you know now. Don't try to convince them under the condition of "just one more time". Don't try to cover up their mistakes. Let them hurt you, so you know better to find someone who wouldn't dare to. Because there's someone out there who would do anything for you. Who will love and respect you just as much as you love and respect them.
Perspective. [You always told me I saw the world too bright, wanted too much from it. If only for once you listened to me when I begged you to open your eyes. If only you knew how desperately I wanted to show you the whole world.]
