Gorgeous afternoon mucking about on yet another river... the river stour at Dedham... the boys tried their hand at rowing and I have to say I was impressed... only one weeping willow/river bank incident... we even moored up, wrestled our swimmies on and went for a dip.... how bloody lucky are we... never known a summer like it... soon we’ll have toured most of East Anglia’s waterways and become an expert in the fine art of concise picnic making... .
I’m thinking we need a kayak or 2 to add to the mix... then there will be no stopping us! X .
After spending many months upside-down and kept under wraps, the large pirogue is finally upright on its permanent location in the new museum ¬back in the spotlight and better than ever! This impressive pirogue, now one of the museum’s star attractions, was hewn from a single Sipo trunk and could carry 100 rowers. Measuring 22.5m in length and more than a metre wide in some places, it weighs nearly 3,500 kg.
Look at that scenery 😍 Lofoten is so amazing! You can almost feel and see how the Vikings have sailed these fjords back in the days 🗡
By the way, would you like me to post more photos taken with #dslr / #iphone or should I stay strictly on #dronephotography ?
A taxi ride on the vast Mekong Delta, followed by some mud fishing where we had to actually stir up fish in the mud with our feet, and catch them by hand.
Day 2 and this is the highlight so far.
Here are the pram’s rudder and daggerboard after I’ve shaped them to give them a roughly foil-shaped cross section; a rounded leading edge and a tapered trailing edge. These are ready for a coat of epoxy. #estabrookyachtdesign#pramv8#foils
