Feeling like a spring chicken after that HIIT session and now I’m thinking of all the way I could use by carbs today 🐥🙌🏼💧#tightertogether
What’s your choice for HIIT? 🏃🏼♀️ And what about your carbs?! 🥞🍦🥐🍎
I did 15 rounds of treadmill sprints:
1️⃣ 40 seconds sprint (12.4 speed or 5 min mile pace)
2️⃣ 1 minute REST (I hop on the sides of the treadmill)
3️⃣ BONUS: 16th round with 60 second sprint—did you accept the challenge? 💁🏼♀️
I could get nerdy about the scientific benefits of HIIT, but I’ll keep it simple—you burn calories throughout the day as a result of EPOC (exercise post-oxygen consumption) and you are recruiting larger motor units and more muscle fibers than steady state, so you are getting the benefits of strength training and cardio 💪🏼💦
ROLE CALL: 👊🏼 Is your HIIT done? Planned for later? Subbing Orange Theory? I want to know! Also, this @outdoorvoices set is an option if you win the weekly gift card(s) so be sure to comment! 👇🏼
#tbt to the beautiful Newport 10k ... come run with me next Saturdays, May 5th! It’s a flat, fast course through Jersey city with great views of NYC along the water.
I’ll be there (although not racing as I’m just starting to build back from the marathon.) But I’d love to see you! When’s the last time you ran a 10k?
Remembering where you came from...Gives you power, knowledge & often appreciation to help get you to where you want to GO👊🏼⚡️ Appreciate who your are in the NOW⚡️⚡️ ..
Physical set backs can create Mental Road Blocks....Don’t LET IT—->22 weeks since I fractured AND sprained my wrist, I went from not being able to utilize my right hand/wrist and forearm to pull in my stroke almost at all for 6 weeks, to having a VERY modified pull with a closed hand only for 16 weeks which was so defeating, frustrating and almost fully took away my joy for swimming (swimming w/ a fist 🤛🏼 is hard) I wondered if I would be able to swim strong and pain free (or anything for that matter) let alone complete an IM swim without a brace.....FINALLY, 5 weeks ago, I opened my hand to swim and took off my brace... while I still have some pain & have to utilize my brace when my wrist gets sore (😐) my 🤚🏾 is OPEN and my joy is back!!!! 〰️🔺〰️🔺I am not as strong as I used to be but I am the strongest I’ve been in 22 weeks...I am happy and proud I adapted and continued on but was also cautious with my recovery!!! ..
Life and Training lessons are so interchangeable aren’t they???- It might feel like everything has gone to shit...you might not see the light at the end of your tunnel...BUT...if you take care of yourself and adapt....be stoked on the little positive moments , be proud of your progress and keep working toward your goals...you’ll be back on track ⚡️⚡️YOU are WHOLE even if you feel (are) “broken”❤️

Thank you so much !
Couldn’t pick just one. I’ve been feeling REALLY down about my progress the past few days (I know it’s mostly mental because I’ve been too sick to work out so my brain is like AAAAAAA) but then I stumbled upon these pictures annnnnd realized my brain is an asshole and I’m awesome 👏🏻
