It’s been a tough couple of weeks with lots of uncertainty surrounding the Broken Goat and whether I’d be able to run, and today the verdict is clear - although my goal was to run the 50K, it would be foolish to jeopardize my healing and the rest of the summer, so instead, I have come to terms with running a shorter distance.
This may sound completely obvious to many, but it is a challenge to let go of a goal, especially one you have spent a long time working towards, and although it was the right decision, it was still difficult to let it go.
So here’s to an amazing weekend spent with friends, in the sun, on some of the best trails I have ever run on!
Kicking ass and taking names on this #5kFriday! In fact, I’d argue that this is the first time I can actually remember running the full distance of a 5k without stopping once during training since the beginning of this journey. I know I’ve ran it in races, but I cant remember doing it in training. I finished out with a little walk to catch up on missing a mission on Wednesday due to rain.
Easy 4.5 this AM and some hill strides at the end. Felt rather sluggish this week, so I kept my runs pretty easy. I would usually feel better as the run went on, I think it has to do with running up hill to start since I moved. I like to ease into runs 😂 not start with a hill (unless I’m running Loon Mt) #fbf to one of my runs in New Hampshire two weeks ago. Happy Friday, folks!! -K #2fabfitchicks#marathontraining#runnerswanderlust
