I love when I don’t have to work and I can make it to my son’s meet. Even at this age, you witness so many things that make the running community great. Runners cheering for other teams, especially the runners at the end, who you can tell are determined to finish. There was also a kid at the end who stayed with the last boy all the way until the end, rooting him on , encouraging him to keep going, and he was even from a rival team. Call me sappy, but I am getting all emotional just thinking about it. There is just something about watching a race that gets to me. What about you? What do you love about the running community? I think the running youth get it, don’t you?

Day 2 Instagram/social takeover from Mark LeBlanc, @markcleblanc, and Andrew Fast, @fastafast, in Slovakia
The Vysoke Tatry region is known as the “biggest little mountains in Europe” as they are not extremely high, but they are very prominent. This region has a much different feel than the town of Terchová. Most people here are very active. •
Upon arriving we pulled into a small neighborhood called Nova Lesna where there were many traditional b&bs. The first one looked nice so we pulled in and spoke to a woman who had no room for us, but called every single place in the neighborhood looking for us a place to stay. No luck. She then offered for us to stay at her mother-in-law’s house. We were greeted with shots of some sort of alcohol and cookies.
This morning we woke up and had breakfast then set off to chase some vert. We got a late start and after saying our goodbyes to the elderly couple who housed us and set off towards the summit of Slavkovsky Stit. We got lost only once, but eventually ended up on a beautiful trail that had rocks embedded into the dirt like they’d been placed there by hand. Green vibrant moss clung to them, lighting the way for us. We popped out of the trees and onto a vast ridge of granite talus covered in green moss and chartreuse lichen. We boulder shuffled our way up the ridge and into the clouds. We both had good legs today and spirits are high. #findyourdirt#findyourvert#trailrunner#trailrunning @lasportivana @fastafast @arcteryx @bonk_breaker #staywild
