Saturday, August 18th; 2pm at the Athens Public Library; I will be giving a talk on how to tan hides using all natural methods. & why commercial tanneries are not only toxic but not at all humane.
This is a road kill coyote in the finishing stage of tanning; where I trap smoke inside the hide to preserve it and give it its color.
Hope to see you there!
🌿I had the pleasure of working with a group of teenage girls this weekend. I gave a basic introduction to natural dyeing and together we made x3 dye pots, avocado pits/skins🥑, marigolds🌼 and red onion skins. They were a lovely group and SO interested and amazed that we achieved such pretty colors 🌿💚 We also made bundles and pictures using the Hapazome technique ☺️

Monday Macrame • master class news• July 28 + 29• I’m a little excited to announce that I have a special workshop assistant coming along for the master classes in just under 2 weeks time. Amanda from @blacksheepmacrame is a past student that has progressed WAY past her first, second and third macrame creations, and now creates beautiful, unique and colourful wallhangings. With Amanda by my side helping out with the classes, it has opened up an opportunity to offer a Beginner Class at the same time. So, if you were hoping to book in for the master class, and you have a buddy that would like an introduction to macrame, bring them along :) Amanda and I can’t wait to share our love of knots. Bookings are essential. Workshops are being held here @villasapi Nanango, Please DM for further details. #macrame#macramelove#macramewallhanging#workshops#macrameclass#masterclass#macramemasterclass#macramemovement#triptothecountry#crafternoon
