In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present. @francisbacon
When you are on a soulful path that asks you to step into the greatest version of yourself, one of the greatest gifts we have is to shine your brightest light, not just in your moments of glory, but each day.
Shining your light bright when everything seems to be going your way is easy. Keep on shining when things get rough is hard.
I am in a fortunate place where I am able to travel, where I have all that my heart desires; family, friends, a partner, my dog. And still there are moments of darkness in my life as well. I’m sitting in the airport right now traveling back from an amazing weekend in Bend Oregon, and while taking off tears are running down my cheeks. Feeling so silly about it, but I realize that the situation I have created for myself is one of stress. One of endless expectations.
I very often speak to my beloved students about self-love and taking a deep breath when things get hard. To learn from the moments when we are struggling and in need. And I think I have come to a point where I have decided that shining my light brightly everyday is more important then anything else.
How can we be on a path of stepping into our greatest Self, if we are depleting ourselves and when we are no longer fueling our own light? So time is here to advocate for myself, to love myself, practice all that I teach! So I can continue to spread my light and share my love.
It’s the only place I want to be!
