Finished a commissioned portrait drawing of a brother and sister 💛 -
When people ask me what sort of art do I do I usually tell them that I like painting with acrylics and watercolour. However, drawing with pencil and charcoal with people as subjects has always been my favourite. Because my mum and dad separated when I was young, I value relationships more in a sense. Having and living with a loving and supportive extended and spiritual family made up for it. I always felt that I was part of a big family. This is why I find inspiration in the togetherness of people and how we connect in different ways whether by blood or by commitment. Seeing dad’s play with their kids in the park and younger people care for their grandparents brings a smile to my face. Just how a cell is the building block of our body, I hope that a family can continually be appreciated as the building block of our society.
