Last night was HELL...Benton fell asleep on the couch around 8:30. We put him in his bed around 9:30. At 2am he came into our room SCREAMING that his legs hurt. So we let him snuggle us, we rubbed his legs, and we got him medicine. ~~
He REFUSED to take the medicine. So he cried for a few minutes and then fell back asleep. He kicked and punched while sleeping so I moved out to the couch...
2 hours later, just as I was falling asleep, he starts screaming again. Waking EVERYONE up! Screaming that his leg hurts, that’s he’s hungry, and that he didn’t get to watch the iPad today. ~~
From there, he ate 2 meals, and was awake for about 3 hours complaining and crying. ~~
I didn’t fall asleep until about 6am and then was awake on and off until he fell back asleep...needless to say, Kyle and I were EXHAUSTED and we slept in and didn’t make it to church. Benton didn’t wake up until about 1:30pm 😩😩
The point of this post...We NEEDED to get out of the house! And we needed to feel something other than frustration! So we drove up to the mountains. It’s so beautiful and peaceful, and the perfect place to think about how blessed we are. ~~
The kids had fun playing in the snow for a few minutes...it was FREEZING! We got fresh mountain air, they all fell asleep on the way home so we got some peace and quiet. It made the day feel like it was not just a waste!
I miss living closer to these mountains, but we still are only about an hour away, and the mountains down the street from us will do when we don’t want to drive as far. Haha. I’m grateful for this beautiful state we live in, and the peace that it can provide!
