Dream team-ing with these two over the weekend!! 🙌🏼🤩
I ran the Spartan Super with Matt in the morning, and the Spartan Sprint with Agata in the afternoon. It was a lot of fun 😁 though I must admit I still feel like I've been bulldozed over 😂.
I hadn't dedicated the time in training that Spartan deserved, so I really struggled with all the obstacles that involved the upper body... Which was most of them 😂. Good thing teamwork makes the dream work! 🙌🏼💪🏼
I'll definitely try to make up for it in Windsor in a few weeks. This time, teaming up with my first Spartan in crime @milkdudmayhem 🙌🏼 (and possibly, if she'd signed up while riding the Spartan high, @agata.be.running as well 😂).
Trifecta #2, here I come! 🙌🏼

I've never really run under the rain, but somehow that rainy Saturday afternoon seemed like a good idea for a change. Maybe it was the mood I was in, or perhaps it was the company I had. Or both. .
I ended up running with a few others who wanted to make good use of the time we had to prepare for the race. We were all clueless about the fate of the race but decided to trust in the team that handled it. .
It was a good run. I was expecting my knee to hurt, but glad that it didn't. It was a perfect warm up. It was a perfect moment - to contemplate and be grateful of the opportunities I have, of the people I get to meet and do things I love with. .
Learn to do things that take you out of your comfort zone. Do things you don't like doing. I hate running but I know it's something I need to do. Sometimes we have to do things we don't want to do in order for us to do things that we want to do.
At the same time, find someone who will encourage you to be better and who will bring out the best in you, in everything that you do. Doing things out of your comfort zone, it matters to have someone be there who is always looking out for you. Just make sure to look out for them, too. .
The dressing room. One of women’s most hated and beloved places.
A moment under the lights and mirrors of self confrontation can either make or break you. That is vulnerability.
300lb Justine felt hopeless. It was hard to find my true self in 3x and 4x department store clothing. Even the act of trying on different clothes felt exhausting; physically and emotionally.
I don’t like waking up at 5am to go to the gym...but I didn’t like being mortified by my own reflection either. I’ve fought for this. I’ve sweat and I’ve cried...and I didn’t believe there would be a day I was in a size large...asking if they had a medium instead.
So grind. Go to the gym when you don’t want to. Skip on the extra sugar if that gives you a place to start. Do whatever you can and keep going until you love who and what is staring back at you in the mirror. Re discover and express your inner true self, it 👏🏻is👏🏻never👏🏻 too👏🏻 late. Don’t let the battle be about your weight and self worth in the dressing room, rather let it be wondering how on earth you are going to afford all the amazing frocks! 💋 #IChooseToLive
The weeks leading up to the race, I was feeling scared, nervous, terrified. I didn't think I would finish the Beast to be honest but thank goodness I met these 4 guys who pushed and motivated me to keep going. In my previous races, I would stop to rest when I felt tired, last weekend, I didn't. I pushed hard because I didn't want to disappoint them, even during moments when I felt so much pain in my legs and wanted to scream, I kept going.
@neilateem @jascampbell17 your motivation really helped me gain confidence and trust in myself more .
@ezekielvicente your taping saved me!
@rafatheoutcast you being you really lightened up everyone's mood and made the experience much more fun, still laughing at that cheetah comment with Neil 🤣
Who would have thought we'd get along really quickly in just one weekend? There isn't a single boring moment with this lot. For 2 of them, this is their first Spartan race and they did the Beast! It's also their first time in the Philippines and they were welcomed by a typhoon. I really admire them a lot. This trifecta is for you guys, my new #brofriends. This is my most memorable race yet. See you soon in KL! I'll train even harder next time. Miss you 4 already! ❤ 🇵🇭🇧🇷🇨🇦🇹🇹
