Thanks for the invitation from “Hong Kong Tourism Board“ and we’re glad to share with the journalist Anna Harrison and video journalist Hunter Calder from “The New Zealand Herald” to interview the Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations in Hong Kong on Feb 18. During this interview, we start to talk from the tradition Chinese Candy Box from the ancient to modern, learning tea, tea tasting and how to select the right tea to match with different food inside the chinese candy box. Thanks you for coming and lots of fun to share our knowledge and experience with everyone. Looking forward to your published about “Best of all it’s in Hong Kong” (including dining, local culture, and HK great outdoors events etc). Wish you all Happy Chinese New Year, good health, all the best wishes and enjoy your good journey.
Your Tea Drinking Habits - Ingrained or Open to Change
You see someone holding a clipboard obviously conducting a survey, what do you do? Do you avoid eye contact and/or take a bit of a detour not to be asked 😀
Or you might actually stop and answer the questions.
So say you stop to answer questions, these typically what to establish something about you, your habits and maybe if you are open to trying something new/different.
So, with that in mind and with the coolest young people @UniversityofHuddersfield who have put together a survey to better understand your tea 🍃💚🌿 habits. The full survey is on my website, details in my profile 🙂
Essentially what we want to know is just 3 things;
1. Do you drink only black tea 🍃?
2. Do you drink blended teas 🌿?
3. Do you drink tea 🌱at a particular time or with a meal(which meal)? That's it!! Thank you 😊
You didn't have to avoid eye contact or walk half a kilometre not to be accosted 😉
What a pleasure it was to get served a delightful meal at Barr for the first day of the year. New year new traditions: no banh chung nor other delicious Vietnamese and Chinese specialities... It was full Danish yesterday and worth featuring for the colour and flavour assemblage. Nothing to regret: from the plaice and its creamy sauce on a rye bread slice, the venison frikkadelen and its local berries to the sweet cake with salted caramel, marzipan and seabuckthorns... Plus the super friendly staff that was a very pleasant choice. Having a nasty flu the staff was kind enough to pair the meal with a selection of teas. Herbal with the fish and black smoked with the meat. Thanks @barrcph for caring so much for your sick guests! .
We do our best to impress! Working with the owners @mintandcraft we created a tea selection that is en pointe with their incredible menu and here’s why... Tea pairings are just as sensory as wine pairings and can balance or intensify the flavor of your foods. Whether it’s herbal tea or a traditional style, tea works with your palate to accent taste and enhance your dining experience! Consider these tea pairings the next time you visit the cafe—
Lemongrass-Ginger; refreshing and delicious paired with light seafood, rice, or noodle dishes. Or try sipping while nibbling carrot cake, they are perfect partners!
Rose White Peony; floral, delicate and divine! Try pairing this one with aromatic fresh greens or with sweet crepes, waffles and berries to soften and sweeten not only your palate, but your heart as well!
Jasmine Citrus Mint; a wonderful contrast to richness and heat in spicy dishes or to balance creamy sauces, cheeses and desserts.
Irish Breakfast; a smokey, full-bodied black tea makes a great pairing for meat based or grilled dishes or for complimenting rich chocolaty sweets!
Caramel Pu-erh; pairs well alongside dishes with bold flavors such as bacon, brie, goat cheese, and roasted nuts, also with creamy desserts, almonds and custard!
Enjoy your tea-inspired flavor explorations!
Tea 🍃💚🌿 and food pairing and tasting on Valentine's Day.
What teas goes well with red meat and poultry? Seafood?
British cheeses, soft, hard and the in betweens?
Breads and biscuits? Cakes, desserts, puddings and sweet treats?
There is an amazing array of teas to match with any course. Thank you to all who came and tried every possible combination 😋
Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕 I decided to start the day off with some self love by playing cupid with two things that I enjoy....tea and chocolate! 🍫 There are so many combos I love, including the pu-erh and dark chocolate...a rich and indulgent pairing! How are you going to show yourself some love today? 💘
