On Thursdays I Bake | I recently enrolled in the #bakingfoundations online course offered by the @bakeclub_australia Part of our homework for this week was to think about why we like to bake. I am pretty sure I have set out my reasons for my baking passion earlier on when I began my On Thursdays I Bake but I wanted to take the opportunity to remind myself. For me there are so many reasons. I find it allows me to recollect, evoke and create memories with family and friends. It also provides a sense of peace, calm and tranquility. I love being in the moment of baking, immersed in the process and, for some recipes, in the precision and level of concentration that is needed. For me it is like a form of meditation. So, for today's baking I decided to carry on with the salted caramel theme that I started last week. Today I made the Salted Caramel and Milk Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Cream from @burchpurchese book, Lamingtons and Lemon Tarts. Caramel lovers take note, this cake has TWO batches of salted caramel in it! And, can I just say.... how hard is it to photograph brown food :) Oh and I have decided to pair the cake with my Vanilla Brûlée tea blend... a beautiful black tea blended with the perfect amount of pure ground vanilla beans that I have sourced from @brokennosevanilla . So good x.
My favor De Hua white porcelain cups just arrive! The history of De Hua white porcelain can trace back to Song Dynasty (960-1279). The French people used to call De Hua white porcelain as Blanc De Chine, meaning China white in English as the highest praise. Because of the high purity white color De Hua white porcelain has, it was used to make white Buddha in South Asian. Holding this cup in your hand is like holding a purest jade. I am going to bring this set to East Bay and Sacramento tea meet up next time for everyone to enjoy it. Come to join us if you are around!
Right now I only have one tea available but it's a really good one and I drink it everyday it's so much better for you than coffee! Perfecting and adding some last touches on my other blends before listing them but for now... 🌵 RESILIENCE! DAYTIME HERBAL TEA 🌞 Medicinal herbal tea blend for the daytime healing of stressed bodies, anxious nerves and depressed minds. 🌿

10% of all my sales help fund my solidarity apothecary project that will enable me to provide herbal medicines to those who can not afford it in my city. 🌴
I am also brewing up a mini herbal A-Z zine on native Florida medicinal plants. Each issue one letter/herb to bring awareness and consciousness to the nurturing plants we think as just weeds all around us. 🌘
