Gros dilemme aujourd'hui, comment servir la All the Leaves are Brown? Dans un verre ou sur des pancakes ? Autre création des gars de chez @tempestbrewingco, c'est un concentré de saveurs canadienne qu'on retrouve dans cette Brown Ale, style typique du Nouveau Continent. Dès l'ouverture, on sait à quoi on a affaire.
Big dilemma today, how to serve All the Leaves are Brown? In a glass or on pancakes? Another creation of the guys from @tempestbrewingco it is a concentrate of Canadian flavors found in this Brown Ale, a typical New Continent style. From the opening, we know what we are dealing with. The nose is captivated by notes of maple syrup and toasted malt. We find the same elements to tasting, and with that, we find powerful notes of toffee and treacle. The length, the roundness and especially the thickness are incredible. An ideal beer in cold weather, it will warm you as much by its consistency as its 10.5 degrees.

Tangerine Porter – Tempest Brewing (Scotland)
This limited edition winter brew by Tempest is a porter with additions of tangerine zest and spices.
It’s one of Tempest’s last releases of 2017, a porter fermented with tangerine juice, infused with tangerine zeste, spices and chocolate.
This Tangerine Porter pours clear dark brown to black with a ruby color at the bottom. There’s a big bubbly beige head that disappears fast with no carbonation. In the nose roasted malts, coffee, a chunk of dark chocolate and a little touch of boozyness. In the mouth aroma’s of roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. This porter is fruity and a bit sweet, mainly orange and off course tangerine. There’s a decent amount of bitterness from the combination of the roasted malts, chocolate and tangerine zeste. I noticed some liquorice with a little pinch of salt, the salt could be my imagination. The liquorice impression is probably from the spices, mainly star anise. The spicy touch is very light. It’s mainly a bit of orange covered with chocolate.
Taste is medium bitter, a silky light to medium mouthfeel. The beer finish is dry with a short fruity, tangerine zeste-like aftertaste with again a fair amount of dark chocolate.
This beer tastes like a dark chocolate bar with orange, or a dark chocolate biscuit with some orange jam filling. Great job Tempest!
Review 431: @tempestbrewingco DROP KICK ME JESUS (Sour Pale Ale) 5.2% ABV 👀: pours a pale clear golden with a small white head
👃🏻: aroma of soft tart lemon sherbert, mild hops, and some herby notes
👅: fine carbonation, super sour and tart lemon which kind of takes away from the tropical hoppy notes, which are there but are subdued
🏁: fairly long sticky sour finish
VERDICT: certainly not a bad Beer but quite one dimensional. For me the sour tartness overshadowed any complexity
Sorry if it feels like we've gone off on a tange-nt recently 😉😂
Hops: Mandarins Bavaria
We gave it a 4/10
-- The last Tempest Brewing we tried was Mexicake and there was too much going on in that for us. This time it felt like there wasn't enough. We desperately wanted the chocolate orange feel that the brewery description suggested. We got the slight chocolate but none of the orange. Drinkable, but not what we expected.
