What a weekend!!! I’ve laughed, smiled ear to ear, and cried. As I reflect on the weekend I’m hit with a wave of emotions. The #tiucommunity has given me so much - Friends, Self Love, Joy, Determination, Compassion, and Strength. I leave the east coast for the west coast in two weeks and though I’m sad and I’m going to miss the friendship I’ve made, I know it’s only a new chapter and the those connection are everlasting. .
Thank you to @christiek_tiu, @lindsay_tiumd and @tiumom_sara for being my constant reminder of what friendship really is and that it’s ok to take time for yourself. 👯♀️👯♀️💗 And to @ginascarpulla and @jspoiter for always being there for me through all the ups and the downs. @dockmonster Where do I start with you. Let me tell you girls about the worst advice I ever took.
I read somewhere that we only get three of the five. So I built my business, made time for Mac and Viv, and did my workouts and just accepted that I didn’t have time for friends (or sleep).
And that led me to crying in my stories last month that I need girlfriends who I actually talk to and see on a regular basis.
Well I’ve always been proactive, and I’ve always believed that you have to be a friend to have a friend.
So...I got off my 🍑 and made plans and showed up! And I had one of the BEST weekends I can remember.
I almost had to pinch myself leaving @tiu_ashleyjeanne ‘s birthday that there are such loving, kind, open real girls who want to be my friend! Same thing after a going away dinner with my girl @allgood_fitness - my only regret is we didn’t do this way more often!
Yes, making friends as an adult can be like dating: it can be nerve wracking and awkward and time consuming and you wonder if anyone will want to be your friend.
But I can’t pick three. I can’t live without girlfriends.

It’s staring to feel like fall here! Got into a festive mood meal prepped pumpkin & apple ovo, and delicata squash salads for lunch. This weekend I got in a barre class, 10 mi run & @downdogyoga! Ready for my 1/2 marathon next weekend and as of October 1, I am starting @whole30 and @laurengleisberg fall challenge! Can’t wait to see the results.

Day 2 running!! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️ Really starting to feel like myself again and gaining back my strength! Did some #mealprep this morning and then went to the gym and did a 25 min elliptical session and then 20 min of arms and abs. Then when the rain finally slowed down, my fiancé and I ran around a nearby park for my #postsurgery running program! The people you look up to that seem to have it made, that just seem to have it easy, they had to hustle hard too. They had to put their head down and grind away just like you and I.
The only difference is, they’ve just failed more times and taken more chances than you have at this point. And when someone told them “no,” they still knew they could do what they wanted, they just knew they wouldn’t do it with THAT person.
Don’t let anyone who says “no” to you keep you from working hard for what you want. Keep going, and keep growing.
