Sunset walks in the Midwest sure look a bit different than those on Manhattan Beach this time of year! Brrrrrrrr..... 🍂❄️ Week 3 is off to a great start! Meal Prepping on Sundays always makes a huge difference for me! Today, I went to the gym for BodyPump and totally wish I would have read the “Studio Chat of the Day” before class began. I would love to know what my class would choose! Would YOU rather do ① 100 Push Ups or ② 100 Burpees?? 🤷🏻♀️ ME?? Hands down, I would rather do BURPEES! 😁 DAY 15: All 5 Meals on Plan + 60 Minutes of Strength Training + Quick 20 Minute Sunset Walk with my TIU Pup 🐶
So thankful for @toneitup leftovers 💁🏻♀️ especially when you really don’t feel like cooking! This weekend I did no workouts at all and it’s also my last weekend to drink anything🍷🍺 I’m going to start cutting out the alcohol for the rest of the month. No particular reason why, just I guess to take a further step closer to my fitness goals. I am mostly a beer girl so the bloat I get from it is unreal 🙈 I also didn’t have in mind any type of length of time I wanted to do this for because I don’t really have any special events coming up so the end of the month goal sounded good to me lol. Next week I’m going to also strive to workout 5 days a week for 30mins or more. Last week I did 4 days which wasn’t easy to hit that goal when you’ve gone a month with no workouts prior 😬 I’m kicking myself for that now because my knees start to really hate me when I put a little weight back on so there’s that. Last week I had to work thru the pain with making sure I wasn’t pushing myself so that I didn’t create some sort of injury. I struggle hard with this, I want so badly to load on all the weight I can and squat or lunge with it but I can’t 😢 if I get above 20lbs I pay for it dearly! And my ego gets in my way sometimes when I do load more weight on the bar 🏋🏻♀️ just trying my best over here but very much wish I could do more! :

On Tuesday, October 2nd 2018, I had to say goodbye to my Brutus. It was by far the worst day of my life. I try to keep this account positive and fitness related, but for the past 2 weeks I have been in a dark place. Nighttime is the hardest. I’ve never lost someone close to me, so I am very fortunate, but this hurt more than I could ever say. I woke up today and finally logged back into this account; my last post made me cry. But, I’m ready to start dragging myself out of the darkness and back into what makes me happy - moving and nourishing my body.
During the last few months, we saw several doctors and put Brutus through so many tests, diets, antibiotics and steroids. In the end, we finally got an answer. Lymphoma. On top of our grief, we now have a significant amount of debt. I wouldn’t change anything. Our sweet, amazing friends set up a Go Fund Me to help with some of Brutus’ medical costs. While it feels strange to ask for help, it has been so incredible to see and hear about how much people loved Brutus; the link is in my bio if you wish to donate.
