I followed my wild spirit and it lead me to a waterfall in Africa. A reminder of how small and powerless I really am. I've been fighting since birth to save the earth and today I have finalized the name of my non-profit so that I can stand up for something much bigger than all of us.
Happy #WorldVeganDay! I've been vegan for 10 years. It didn't transpire overnight and I wasn't perfect. I haven't thrown out my old leather boots. (I don't believe in unnecessary consumerism.) Over time, I have worked to remove animals products from all areas of my life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me, being vegan is an umbrella term which celebrates daily compassion, sustainability, and global examination. It's not particulars or perfection, but exponential and incremental ripples of personal change and growth for humanity, for the environment, and for my beloved wildlife.

I also have to give a shout-out to the influencers who have encouraged me to be unapologetically vegan:
‘Genna’ or Ethiopian Christmas is the most important festival in Ethiopia - a country obsessed with festivals! Priests in beautiful robes parade through clouds of incense carrying ornate umbrellas of all colours with gold brocade and incredible Coptic tribal crosses carved from nickel:
Chanting, singing, pilgrims drinking local beer and dancing amid 13th Century rock-hewn churches - this is nothing like you have ever seen before! After the festival we head to one of our favourite hiking routes camping in the Gheralta Mountains; meeting the local villagers to experience their traditional music and legendary hospitality.
The 9-day adventure is from 5-13 Jan 2019 and costs £1399 all included. For more information see: www.yellowwoodadventures.com/Genna-festival
