Strange to think that it was one of the last double digit runs in preparation for the Ironman. 6 days post Berlin marathon and 3 weeks before the big challenge. I know soon I will have to go back to my training log and remind myself that I can go long and I did it multiple times during the training. During taper when distances get shorter it is easy to start questioning yourself and your abilities. I keep a detailed training log and it helps me to remember. ————
Right now I am so thankful that everything is going according to the plan. —————-
When I first started today I was contemplating if I would be able to run this long. I decided to go out and see how it would go. I can always turn back. First 5 miles were not easy. I was thinking about turning back. I had a water break and a snack at mile 5 and got a so much needed boost of energy and miles started to feel easier. I had another snack and Amino Energy at mile 10 and got another boost and at that point I knew I had less than an hour to run and I would finish. Felt great when I was done. Happy Saturday!!
You guys.....it’s here, race weekend!!! I drove in to Philly on Thursday to meet up with my family and today we made the short trek to Atlantic City. Just left Ironman village where I checked in, dropped off my bike and did a little shopping.
