Seyh Efendi is saying: As we see in these days, people go to Hajj, coming back, they are worse than before. You didn’t learn nothing. You didn’t gain nothing. Because you came into that House of Allah, you came as guest of Allah with such dirtiness and you dirty that House of Allah, and you come back even more soiled.
Sheykh Effendi is continuing, you didn’t understand nothing from the Hajj that you have performed that time and it is enough sign showing that your Hajj, because you have not complete it, your mind and heart were at some other places, not with Allah. They are not thinking to say, ‘that invitation is given to me from my Lord, and I am coming here and I’m watching His favors.’ NO. Instead, they are thinking, ‘there’s a tea house, there’s a restaurant, there’s a store I must go here and there.’ So many are not even able to do their duties, running around like a wild kind of creature. I don’t know what kind I should say. Running.
The Great Shaykh, Hz. Ali Hujweri (KS) is describing Real Hajj, saying: “The reality of the rituals of Hajj is: (1) wearing of ihram (the solitary white cloth) means giving up all bad habits; (2) staying in Arafaat means you are absorbing the Divine love; (3) going to Muzdalifa means giving up of the passions of Nafs; (4) Tawaaf, or making rounds of the Kaaba, means seeing the divinity of Allah; (5) coming back to Mina means forgetting all desires of one’s heart; (6) running in Safa and Marwa means purifying the heart and soul; (7) Qurban or sacrifice means sacrificing all the desires and passions of Nafs; and (8) throwing of pebbles at the devil means throwing away of the bad companions and associates. If a Murid fails to observe and learn the foregoing lessons from his pilgrimage to Kaaba, his going for Hajj will make no difference to him and will indeed be an aimless and vain show.” May Allah protect us from a vain Hajj, and may He grant us the ability to travel to make the real Hajj in the sohbet of our Sheykh before we leave this world.
