I've got three fricken words for you: HORIZON ZERO DAWN. This #ps4 exclusive is one of the most extraordinary games I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Obviously it stands out graphically, but the gameplay is outstanding as well. I've often been frustrated by game mechanics the likes of #uncharted and #thelastofus, but I find #horizonzerodawn's to be quite seamless. I am obsessed with this game so far.
Story-wise, there are a lot of questions to be answered right from the start of this game. While knowing as little as the rest of us, Aloy still makes a great protagonist. The girl's a pragmatist, but she's got a good heart even though she realizes how stupid everyone is for worshipping a door (I laughed way too hard at that scene, btw). I'm curious to see how she ended up on the other side of that door and to find out exactly what happened to make the world turn out like this.
Surprisingly, I haven't died too many times yet (lol mostly from falling off stuff) playing on normal--although to be fair, I also haven't left the Embrace yet. I think I've already pumped about 20 hours into this game and it sure hasn't bored me at all. It really feels like a true open world, and for once, I actually want to explore it.
Have you played Horizon Zero Dawn? If so, what's your opinion on it? And how many hours have you put into it?
