Definitely ready to pull out the okra but the hummingbirds love it. 🌺
They fly around chasing each other like a game of quidditch. I can’t help but think of Harry Potter every time they go by. They’re like the golden snitch zooming in and out with their cute little peeps to each other. Maybe JK Rowling spent some time with the hummingbirds. 😂
They love to sit on the limbs like a little stoop. ✌️
The best thing about gardening in a community garden or allotment is the sharing. Sharing of knowledge, experience, and sometimes crops. One of my pals gave me two 'Sweet Dumpling' squash last week and I'll be popping them in the oven for tonight's dinner. I'd never heard of them before but am so looking forward to tasting them. The skins are edible and the flesh supposedly delicious. If they impress, I might get some seeds for next year. The ones inside probably won't grow true to the parent plant since they were grown with so many other squash growing around them.
