Yep we have a lot of discussions about how awful they look on me but then I share how much they help my sleep! Does anyone else do quirky hacks to help them sleep 🙋♀️ .
Blue light is actually super important just not at night. It’s the light spectrum that is in the morning sun. The blue light signals to our bodies it’s time to wake up and get going for the day. So if you have troubles getting up in the morning go outside first thing for 20mins in the sunlight 🌞 and this will help significantly (even better paired with a morning walk). .
Why you want to block out blue light in the evening? Because the blue light spectrum signals your body to wake up it will suppress the natural production of melatonin in the evening which needs to build up over a few hours in order to get a good nights rest. Blue light is emitted from all our synthetic light 💡 fluorescent and led lights being the worst, (this includes your phone, tv and any smart devices). Incandescent are the best lights for the evening followed by halogens, but the still emit an amount of blue light .
