This was about 9 months ago in the ancient city of Athens. Go visit it if you can!! I’m still reeling from my time spent there.
Athens taught me how to relax.
How to rest in the evening light.
How to love sitting in a cafe alone.
To appreciate the steady buzz of human conversation washing over you, regardless of your participation.
That rushing to your next potential achievement isn’t nearly as important as we make it out to be.
That Christianity isn’t locked into my way of thinking or my understanding of moral ground.
That the Church is just a bunch of people, and that I can only be with the ones I’m with when I know them, no matter how mysterious our Holy Communion is.
Here I also learned that sweat is normal, and it has completely changed my understanding of summer. 😥😅😂
Travel changes you. Wherever you go, you will meet humans that are nothing and exactly like you. You’ll see God even there.
