where's the easy button?
i had that question pop into my head this past week.
i was feeling very overwhelmed, overworked, with no time for sleep or rest, and i wondered where that button was. i longed to just take the easy route for once, and take a break from so much work.
but then i remembered something.
that’s not how life was meant or designed to be.
Jesus died on the cross.
HE died on the cross for OUR sins. He suffered for hours just so we can have a chance. a chance to breathe, a chance to live, and a chance to work hard here on this earth.
and i think many times we forget about our ultimate goal in this life. we get so focused on the day to day things, the inconveniences, the exhaustion, and all of the piles of work and life’s distractions, that we forget.
Jesus didn’t NEED to live here on this earth to suffer. but He chose to. He did it for us, and no part of it was through an easy button.
it was through sacrifice, love, and selflessness.
this life wasn’t meant to be easy, friends.
it was meant to be a life of purpose, with one end goal: to ultimately in the end, enter those radiating gates of heaven, where He waits for us with open arms filled with love.💛

My gosh I honestly had no idea how many people would share the struggle of working full-time while trying to run a photography business. All this time it seemed like I was the only one sitting behind a desk day dreaming about traveling around the world shooting amazing weddings but so many of us are in the same boat!! And I'm sure it's not just photographers who are going through this, SO many people get sandwiched into a career or life that they didn't necessarily picture for themselves.
Most days it can be so hard to open Instagram and see all these glamorous photos and think, why am I not traveling the world taking pictures like that? But it's SO important to remember that those people you see traveling the world ALSO went through their own struggles to get there and I'm sure continue to deal with their own personal struggles.
I probably don't have to tell you that nobody's life is as glamorous as it seems on Instagram, but it can be so easy to believe that they are when someone is shooting under waterfalls in Iceland and another person is frolicking through the hills in Scotland. What keeps me sane and stops me from dying of jealously (lol 😭😂) is trying to enjoy the climb (yaaass @mileycyrus ) because I've learned that if you think you'll be 100% happy once you get somewhere, you'll never be happy.
This is something I've really struggled with over the past few years and have wasted so much time being unhappy thinking I would finally be happy if this or that happened. Even though I haven't yet achieved my biggest goals, I've been trying to enjoy the day to day even if that means getting up at 6:30 to go work at an office when all I can think about is photography. Knowing that one day all of these days will lead to even better things keeps me going!! ONE DAY I will be traveling the world, but that won't be the epitome of my happiness and neither will be whatever it is you're chasing. So keep dreaming, keep working, and ENJOY your life. Okay. Sorry, once I start typing I can't stop 😭. TY for reading ✌🏼
One of the happiest days of my life was just 3 weeks ago when I married my best friend and my love, Antonio. We were so grateful and blessed to have so many close family and friends celebrate our wedding with us.
A big shout out to Danielle from Scratch Photography for the wonderful photos.
In the end, love is much less about finding “THE ONE”, and more about deciding “Is this person someone who I want to love every day and keep in my life forever; with their strengths, weaknesses, quirks, and oddities?”
It’s less about finding or falling or feelings and more about c h o o s i n g.
I’m loving this whole fall thing. I can’t say that I’ve always liked fall. When I was a kid, I was a summer girl through and through. I was approximately 1 million skin tones darker & I hated raking up leaves. I can’t tell you what really changed this for me, but all of the sudden, you got yourself a girl that hated going to the pool and would contently sit out in the rain. Now that I don’t have a yard to rake all the dead leaves from, the whole crunchy golden brown dead leaf thing has grown on me. How odd is it that dead plants have officially become an aesthetic? I’m done rambling now. Carry on with your day, sweet friends of mine.
Last week I spent the evening with Linh and Vicente, they are getting married in WA next summer, but are moving to Arizona in December. They wanted their engagement photos to be a reminder if their time together in Seattle. We went to the Chihuly Garden at the space needle first, where they had went on a date. Unfortunately, their rules do not allow professional photographers to post the photos they take.
Headed to the airport bright and early this morning for a quick flight to San Francisco! Headed down for 3 weekends of back to back to back weddings and really looking forward to designing in brand new spaces in 3 different cities, getting product from 3 different flower markets and being a part of 3 incredible weddings. Packing for this was no easy feat! I’m just hoping I have everything I need (I do!) | also, loving the letter pressed menu booklets from @greyandcake from a recent @rocheharborresort wedding! Going to the @californiaweddingday and @anythingbutgrayevents event today at @jlm_couture in Beverly Hills for the @misshayleypaige show reminded me of this shoot I did last month in Washington State.
It was a dream doing a styled shoot here. It was a lot of work and planning with @gabrielainesphoto and @kameaevents. We really put our brains together to make it work and we had to be so flexible since I was out of state. I didn’t know what to expect when I got there. Of course my fiancé @vncnt22 was such a huge help. I couldn’t have done it without him. He helped me process the flowers in my aunt’s backyard, he helped me pack and was a great assistant helping me clean up as well. He helped me from beginning to end. We got lost finding this venue of course. Finding this venue was a gem. The garden of white cosmos and antique hydrangeas really filled my florist dream come true. Pinch me!
