Can’t believe it’s already been 7 years! You bring us together every year in memory of you, my friend.
RIP Smatty, hope you’re enjoying your Jack Daniels up there 🤮
This lady holds a very special place in my heart. She was a tough cookie with a vibrant social life. She never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation with friends and strangers alike. She grew up in the depression, raised two boys while running a trucking company, and loved her Friday night club. A wise woman, she liked to have a cocktail after shopping before making any serious purchasing decisions. She would regularly find new parties to join on her way from the dinner table to the restroom, and yes this was in her 80s!
Since I was a kid, I always felt a special connection to her. I'm named after her. My middle name is her 1st. She always inspired me to be elegant and strong and powerful and kind and loving and creative and happy.
I'm so grateful that she was able to make it to our wedding, and that I was able to say goodbye in her final days. I am comforted in knowing that she lived a long and beautiful life. A great life! And she left us at home, without pain, surrounded by family as she had hoped.
It overwhelms me to think of the things she's seen in her lifetime, her 93 turns around the sun. But she's moved on. and that is life. and I'm wishing her the most beautiful and peaceful rest. I imagine her floating above us and at the same time as a bird flying across the skies scoping out the next cocktail hour, and simultaneously in heaven with Grandad and her best friend of 91 years. And I know I'll carry her with me for always.
Bye Nana. We love you. And we miss you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Happy birthday to a woman who is truly a gift to all of those lucky enough to know her, let alone be part of her family. She’s silly, she’s honest, she’s sassy, shes beautiful, she’s amazing. We love you so very much and hope that your birthday is as wonderful as you Grandma Chub! Happy birthday, young lady!!! ♥️ #Grandma#greatgramdma#birthday#weloveyou#wemissyou
Today is International Survivor of Suicide Loss Day. We’re a family that loss our son in January 2017. This photo is one of the last we took as a family together. We’ve come a long way since his death and missing him is truly an understatement. We’ve learned through understanding grief and healing, we each have had our own personal journey. We discovered our triggers, our emotional dis-ease, our individual harmony & balance and the power to change our mindset as we pickup the pieces to rebuild again. The one thing during our life-changing loss that has never been altered is the love we continue to have for him. Thank you for allowing us to share our journeys with you.
