Luna update: She's back at the vet today after no improvement yesterday.
Robert had to take her since I couldn't miss work again, but they confirmed it's her thyroid. They don't have the full results back yet, but the initial thyroid test was elevated (6.7 when 4 is the high end of normal). Her potassium was also low (3 when normal range is 3.4-5.6). He left her at the vet for the day so she can get IV fluids, thyroid meds, appetite stimulant, potassium, and probably some other things I'm forgetting.
They did say her stool improved a little despite not getting her to eat anything. She took one dose of propectalin at the vet and when I tried to give her another at home, she spit it out and flung it across the bathroom including in my hair. Hopefully the antibiotic injection is helping with the diarrhea, and I really hope they can get her eating again soon. She's so frail looking and has stopped grooming herself since this episode began. 😿 I've been worried sick and wishing I could do more. If she would eat from my hands, I'd feed her that way but she won't even lick anything. She's my oldest girl - I've had her since July 2006 when she was just 12 weeks old. I don't know what I'd do without her. 💔
I should be able to pick her up after work as long as everything goes as planned. Please keep sending #POTP her way. ❤️
Snow is exhausted after sliding into the deep bathtub with me this morning. He was soaking wet from mid body down. I'm so glad he loves the warmth of the blow dryer and is not afraid of the sound. My sweet boy. ❤❤
