I’m going to be straight up serious, this Athleisure wear is so comfortable!
Currently the clothing is advertised for men, although women can also wear it (as you can see I’m wearing it) SOON there will be a women’s line coming out - stay tuned 🤙🏼💕
Medical school (graduation pictures here!), residency, post college schooling in general is really really challenging. There’s a reason they tell you you can’t have a full time job and study medicine. There is no part time option here, it’s all in or nothing.
Don’t get me wrong though, just because you have to go all in with work doesn’t mean your personal life has to take a massive pause. Although if it does that’s okay too. Every person can handle something different amongst the chaos of being an adult learner who kinda sorta feels like a stressed out teenager again.
Someone recently messaged me asking how to best support their loved one while in he/she is in Med school and I think that right there answers the question completely. At least for myself, I did need someone to support me and love me and care for me. I could have done it on my own (I was prepared to do it on my own) but having my boyfriend now husband along with family and friends and by my side to pick me up when I fell down (constantly) was a lifesaver.
So how do you make a relationship work during one of the hardest times of your life? The same way you make it work any other time, with maybe a tad more patience and grace and understanding.
Take this morning for example. Hubby got up and put the postage on our thank you cards from the wedding. I went to the office and started studying. He came in several times to offer to warm up my coffee or bring me breakfast or rub my shoulders. He planned a lunch date for when I finished. He fed the cat and cleaned the apartment and watched a movie he’s been waiting to see that I didn't like. He supported me all morning in a hundred small ways that made all the difference.
When I’m not full time studying I’m able to give a little more than I take and do small things for him or my loved ones that I can’t mentally make time for when I’m going all in. And I think him understanding that and being able to give give give is what’s kept us strong these past 6 + years. One day I know the tables will turn and I’ll happily give more than I take. Stay tuned for more specific advice later this week! || #ChooseYou
