I've had a quiet week this week and have had a few bad days. Lost 200grams this week and I'm shocked I lost something lol. Anyway had this comparrison pic to show that I am a long way away from where I was. First pic was last night and second pic was Dec 2017. Super happy and it reminds me to just keep going :)
Long post alert: Birthday dinner round two with my extended family tonight out to Japanese food. Points unknown, but I did track my macros the best I could for what I ate and it actually still fit into my day. I’ve noticed these days that if I think something is really good then I eat it, but if it really isn’t worth it, I don’t. Also I’ve gotten better at listening to my body when it says it’s full instead of stuffing myself. Tonight I ate the avocado rolls, the 2 pork gyoza, maybe half the rice, once piece of chicken( it wasn’t good 😝) one tiny bite of the tempura, and a couple spoonfuls of miso soup before my 8 year old gobbled it up. I ate well, I enjoyed it, and I walked away happy but not overly stuffed. Sure, I could have easily picked some more healthy options, but this is a lifestyle, not just a diet and living life is all about balance. I spent the first 6 months of this weight loss journey sticking to plan 100% everyday, not really eating out for fear of being out of complete control of what exactly was in my food, and when I did always choosing a plain salad where I brought my cheese, dressing, protein... But in this past month I have made a big shift in my approach to all of this. I can have a little more flexibility and enjoy myself while still working the plan! In this past month I have: spent 8 days in Disney World where I ate all the nachos and the french fries 🤤, had several splurge meals out with my family and just enjoyed myself, have had several birthday dinners out with my family, and ya know what..I’ve still lost weight, I am within 8 pounds of hitting my goal weight, AND I’m enjoying life at the same time! Balance.
