Kanye west- ye(Wyoming projects reviews part 4)
After scrapping all previous projects and going on hiatus for two years, Kanye West reappeared with his solo album from the Wyoming projects. With the mountains blazing the cover with simple Microsoft paint text, "ye" is a very concious and self-reflectant album. The instrumentals are amazing. Infused with synths and samples which Kanye excells at. The beats can highly contract with the vocals creating an off sound. Kanye limits the use of 808s and kicks to using different sounds that create a similar sound. When the melody wants to take control it does perfectly. The project has a very raw sounding production which is good and bad at times. The vocals are something interesting. Kanye puts boasting on hold and reflects hard. Thinking about his past and hypothetical situations, as well as his mental health. At other times, the same raunchy Kanye lyrics are heard. Some simple lyrics can get old and dry out. At only seven songs, "ye" feels to short for Kanye to complete his thoughts but short enough to prevent to much error.
Fave tracks: yikes, ghost town, all mine
