Meditation has been practiced for thousands of year and its an invaluable resource and it works! Nothing to my experience can improve the quality of anyone’s life as much as meditation.
Meditations involves sitting in silence for the purpose to still the mind.
If you tried meditation you know that the mind can’t just turn off with a snap of your fingers, it just doesn’t like that. But it has nothing to do with you, it’s the nature of mind that doesn’t like stillness.
In Tantra as taught by my teacher Yogarupa Rod Stryker we learn techniques to dissociate from the mind and its state of activity. So instead if trying to still the mind you dissociate from it or ask it to do what it likes to do: to move. You do it in systematic approaches like focus on an object like a mantra or breath or witness thoughts without getting involved in them ….
Meditation has been at the core of my practices for many years now and I cannot imagine where my life and choices I made would be without this invaluable tool which is one breath away just at the tip of your nose!
