Monday morning shouldn’t be a struggle. Starting it off with a floor desk can help wake up those stiff and tired muscles, so you can ease into the workday with happy hips and happy fascia. A cute pup and strong coffee doesn’t hurt either 😏
Planning. Writing. Doing.
Me + my work partner are having a cracking meeting getting lots done although.... I have a staff issue. Not pointing any fingers, but someone has a foot fetish 👣? Feet + toes being licked at work is overly familiar (is it not) plus I haven't decided if I'm consenting or not, I'm just going with it. Although actually quite nice, it is majorly distracting! Not wanting to bring down staff morale or offend. I think I'll just roll with what this Monday meeting is bringing ....
Have you ever had a less than ideal yoga practice? That’s the nicest way I could describe this morning’s practice. This is video is highly sped up from this morning when I chose a @yogaglo class with @jason_crandell which had all of my least favorite things! A fast flow (fast for Jason), Down Dog straight to Warrior I straight to Chaturanga 🙄, and binds! My balance was all over the place and (as you can see) Wallace wanted to be right there and Bodhi made a brief appearance. (Shutting Wallace out led to all sorts of whining outside my office door and I couldn’t deal with it.) But you know what? My yoga practice won’t always be ideal, but yoga has given me the tools to deal with the less than ideal moments in a mindful, focused manner. It’s not about the flashy postures or sticking the coolest looking pose on social media. Yoga has taught me to adapt and manage in most circumstances with a level head and I’ll take that over Hollowback Handstand on one finger any day. (Side note: A loving dog on my mat, of course, is not actually a terrible thing. How could I ask that adorable guy to move?)
I’ll be teaching M, W, and Th evening at 5:30 this week to kick off a new yoga session. We will enjoy a slower, cooling practice to offset this heat. Come practice yin to balance your energy and create more space in your body and your mind. The yoga “challenge”: to be gentle with yourself! (Nova approves this message.)
