Had such a great time in Colorado. It was such a joy to get away and just be a yoga student again. Huge thank you to my teacher, @yogibanyan for the knowledge and even more importantly, for all the fun this weekend!

“In some way, suffering ceases to be suffering at the moment it finds a meaning" -Viktor Frankl
I often get asked: "why do you workout so much and pay so much attention to what you eat? You're already skinny!" What started as a reason to look physically good turned into something much deeper. When I go to the gym and feel my muscles tremble as I do one final pull up or close my eyes and keep running when my heart is speeding faster than ever, its uncomfortable. But I'm not suffering. When I push through that moment of discomfort, I grow mentally. It's my purpose to use movement as therapy. It allows me to crush my insecurities and grow as a person.
My fun used to be escaping for exploration and travel but now - unless my travel is tied to my purpose- I simply don't enjoy it as much.
Living a health conscious lifestyle has taught me that yes, we are products of our past, but we surely don't have to be prisoners of it. It's helped me build deep connections with people and improve my existing relationships. It’s given me the courage and confidence to express myself and in return inspire others to make positive changes in their lives. No excursion, trip, party, concert, etc. compares to this feeling.
When you live with purpose, you live in flow. Where work and play seamlessly mesh together. You're not escaping your current life for fun. You're not suffering through what you do. Your life is always fun."- @vinniegoesfit

You know when you try something for the first time (like cartwheeling into a handstand) and It just seems impossible? Well, keep trying because motor learning is one way to build new brain synapses.
I think that’s why I love unique body movements and creating art. I’m always looking for a different angle or way of solving a problem. I’m hopefully sparking neural pathways that will keep my mind functioning as long as my body.
Here’s an article I read on the subject

I was a little off balance in this flow and it wasn't perfectly organized or planned. I felt weak in certain areas like my arms and my stomach muscles and I'm still struggling with stomach bloat which is making me pay close attention to what I put in my body alot more. I'm not perfect and this flow is not perfect! My main focus could be to be the healthiest, fitest, most aesthetically pleasing person on the planet, but that would be so boring! I'd miss so many opportunities to grow and help others and my mind would not be in the present moment! Take it slow. Create goals, but allow your body to grow stronger and healthier in time. Health is a lifestyle! Not an instant gratification. We all have our days, but don't give up! You're doing amazing! ❤
Last weekend though! Haha who went out for St. Patty’s Day? I did 👋🏻 I’m 7% Irish from what ancestry.com said so it kinda made sense 😂 I was less active this past weekend and what I ate could of been better .. like a lot better but the reason why this is called a journey is that you will hit some bumps and you’ll mess up. I messed up but at the same time I feel like I didn’t. I’ve done pretty good so far with what has been putting into my body. I’ve gotten back to daily yoga. I’m doing my best. I’m showing up. I’m putting in the work but I made it a thing to be healthy first and not to worry about the numbers on a damn scale. I hate living like that along with always being perfect. When you live a healthier lifestyle the pounds will shed! This past weekend was fun as hell cause I let loose. I wasn’t actively working out. I ate like crap. I did some shots and had a few beers. Which is ok. Did you hear me? IT IS OK! Monday means a new day and new week. Mondays have become one of my favorite days cause I get to get back to the goals I’ve set for myself. Weekend of fun and rest so now it’s time to get back to work. Also wanted to let you all know the deadline for sign ups for my April Group will be Friday so if ya been watching and wanting to join but we’re kinda nervous to say yes or ask questions don’t be! Nothing is going to change for you and your health if you don’t take that first step. Reach out through DM or comment I’m ready or you can check out the link in my bio!
What is the difference between addiction and obsession?
Addiction is tolerance and withdrawals. Obsession is mental cravings.
The human brain is so beyond powerful and it's mindset determines our reality. Breaking out of habits like addictions and obsessions are extremely hard and can cause a challenge on the brain.
I don't know what is worse; an addiction or an obsession. Depending on anything for a "feel good" sensation is never a good thing.
Keep striving and working hard. Break those habits and stay determined.
If you're struggling with the fight, don't worry. Keep fighting. I see you.
You will win. We will win.
