to ground us to clear & cleanse us
Topic of the week @ YCBA
The Bhagavad Gita teaches us that the path of self-control leads us to peace. Krishna spoke to Arjuna:
"But the self-controlled man, moving amongst objects with the senses under restraint, and free from attraction and repulsion, attains to peace. In that peace all pains are destroyed, for the intellect of the tranquil-minded soon becomes steady." Bhagavad Gita 2.64-65
Exploring more recent opinions in this text from Thynn Thynn a couple of questions arise;
In this context as a natural mind state it seems like a passive state; but do we have peace also as an active state?
Is it a natural quality that we have fluctuations of that state and not a straight, ongoing experience; or is it sickness?
What are the reasons for that (or do we tend to overlook the intervals)?
How is peace defined here - polarities without conflict, war without action, abstinence of harming?
Does it always depend on different aspects?
Is oneness peaceful - if yes, how is it possible to have a specific quality (difference) in oneness?
Do you need effort to access the state of peace or does simply need to allow?
Who or what in us is experiencing peace?
Is the mind generally peaceful?
Is peace a concept of the mind in form of a state, or is peace an emotion?
What techniques are creating the experience of peace?
And the list could go on and on and on 🤓 What do you guys think out there? Can anyone share an opinion about some of the questions, or have you ever asked yourself what inner peace means to you? 🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷♂️🤷♀️
