Yoga, and life, are easier when we "consent" to them.
When a hard pose or difficult situation shows up, it's much easier to agree to the challenge and roll up your sleeves instead of shutting down and rejecting it.
The energy of rejection doesn't get us very far.
Practice saying YES with me on your mats:
Wednesday 2:30PM @hollywoodboulders
Friday 6:45AM @cliffsofid
Friday 12PM @samarasacenter
In private sessions by request - DM to book.
For Day 3 of #VulgarDisplayofPrana we are recognizing thy metal band Slipknot 👺🤘 Founded in Iowa in 1995 but didn't gain recognition until their debut album in 1999. Metal heads from everywhere flocked to them because of their aggressive sound and grimy lyrics. What made the band though most unique is the facemasks that all NINE members wear. And as they produced new albums and new sounds their masks evolved with them. Swweeeet!
Slipknot is one of THE bands that influenced me to listen to metal music more regularly. I was 15 when that album dropped in '99 and IT. BLEW. MY. MIND. (I think I had it in cassette tape format 🤔) With Corey Taylor, their lead singer, capable of screaming and singing his duel styled vocals I was in shock and awe 😯 because not many front men had the vocal capacity to do that. This blended vocal style helped yet again usher metal music into a whole new era. An anything goes kinda era 🤘
Check out my other hosts and with Paul @theheavymetalyogi for some insights on our discovery band Electric Wizard 🖤💕

Captain’s Log # 092518
We are now three days into battle.
#TheRebelYogiTribe continues to grow stronger with every post.
Our second day we focused in on getting twisty in order to fight the norm, and twisted we indeed got.
💥@katyingulli used her own rebel forces to smash & destroy the poison jugs secretly shipped in to The Dragon Camps from the enemy Planet Tarterus while 💥 @suffocatinglove0 used her mystical powers to shrink the evil Lord Brahmagupta’s once massive fortress.
Victory is ours!
But we must battle onward....
For day three we want you to open those warrior rebel hearts up and let them beam down upon our enemies with the brightness of a thousand unicorn horns. The Broken Heart Outpost will need to be stronger than ever.
We can’t wait to see what you give us next.
Remember, #therebelyogitribe is counting on you.

Welp the vacation is over and I’m coming back for you Toronto. Some things I’ve learned on this trip to Paris 🇫🇷: ..
I like to travel alone, books 📚 are wonderful company and stopping to see only what you want to see is a luxury. .
Airplane mode ✈️ is the best. I might adopt it a couple times a week back in the city. Not being attached to a phone was amazing. .
I want to learn French 🇫🇷. This is something I planned to do when I quit Sick Kids but has been more firmly entrenched now. .
I miss teaching 🧘🏻♀️. Vacation is awesome, but I love my work and I missed it. .
I love the pace of Europe🚶🏻♀️. It’s something I feel I can’t find when I’m in Toronto. So I guess I’ll just need to come back every couple years. .
I live, breathe and bleed Toronto (it’s tattooed right there on my arm), and I never pictured myself leaving...but I’ve been reconsidering (and have been for a while). I’d love to live in Europe but I think I’d miss my family, my friends. Whether it’s Europe, or back to the small towns I grew up in, or on one of the Canadian coasts, or Montreal/Quebec City, Toronto and I have an expiration date. Don’t worry, I don’t think it will be before I turn 40...holy shit (😱), I cant believe I just referred to myself being 40. .
