Capturing moments of laughter, pieces of friendship and the love between two people is what I love doing. Here's a moment between two incredible women @yoga_space_ and @wellnessisthenewblack_ back in 2016 during my YTTC. 💕
Catching up with the final day of #selfpracticechallenge with the lovely hosts: @arigadoryoga & @ainania_yoga I’ve really enjoyed this one as it’s been different to the usual ones where they are all about asana and nothing else, thank you 🙏🏻 Full Lotus for day 10. I’m still chipping away at this and can’t sit in it for long before I need to go back to half Lotus but it’s coming along. I recently read a great article about Ashtanga yoga and how before social media it was the norm to take 5 years to get the Primary series down. Now with the pressures of social media all eyes on you, students assume they should do it in only a year and therefore put too much pressure on themselves. So when I get frustrated that I can’t sit in Lotus for long I remind myself how far I’ve come.
Let’s talk about FINDING YOUR TRIBE
We are social beings and nobody should have to feel lonely in this life. When we are together, we feel stronger, happier, more confident, safer. We can share our achievements with our group, and feel respected. We can share our pain and sorrow, and feel supported. Our group can help us see the light at the end of the tunnel when we are struggling. They can give us a different point of view that helps us clear doubts. They can lift us up when we feel sad and defeated. Nothing like the support of your group when you have a broken heart. As children, it was so easy and natural to find and make new friends, but as adults we became more shy and reserved. We have built walls around ourselves that at often times do not let us make new friends or find that group easily, our own TRIBE.
Are you feeling lonely today? Let those walls fall down. Find your TRIBE. It could be anywhere. In your gym. Your kid’s school. A reading group in your local library. Your workplace. An art class. A yoga studio! Even in a playground or Starbucks. Smile at people, introduce yourself, go for coffee! Ask them about their lives and interests. Sooner than you know, you will have a TRIBE, a support group, friends. You will feel better, happier! After all, life is all about the people you meet and connect with. Nothing else really matters — Namaste 🙏
Most people probs don’t spend their Monday night working-under a Christmas tree in their living room...😂🎄after hours of already working - at a different job, all morning long.
But this girl does!!🙋🏼♀️
Mostly because doing all of that-
Is me building my dreams of virtual fitness coaching✌🏽
A.k.A. Building my dreams to provide for a FAMILY someday. And my already one, right now;)
To provide lots of things for that family. But mostly TIME+FREEDOM.
So for now- it’s long nights of work I love.💓
And afterwards...yoga on the bed- with ALL the self-care goodies. Because this girl is EXHAUSTED.
Time for magnesium spray, inversions, vit. C facial serum, and a homemade stomach calmer before i hit the hay.
“Dissolve yourself into the asana.” -Sharath Jois
Yes to this. Yes to letting go of perfection. Yes to letting go of anxiety about poses. Yes to letting go of all the small annoyances and large disturbances. Yes to my breath breathing me. ‘Scuse me while I dissolve into the practice. 💖 #livinglagitaloca

Rolled through Santa Cruz today on the way back from holding a memorial for my dear friend and mentor Seana with @jaysoncarpenter. My soul needed to connect in community to further process, grieve and integrate this loss. We got to do so beneath the redwoods at Sequoia Retreat Center a wonderful place with a rich history of peace work. It was a fitting tribute and place to gather to honor a woman who taught us so much about community, self responsibility, social and environmental justice work, presence, love and more. We called in and felt her radiant presence with us. Sending love to you and yours. Come move, breath and get present this week: ・

Sharing my favorite motivational mantra to kick off Week 2 of the #TIUholidayhustle. Looking back at how far I’ve come always puts me in a good headspace and motivates me to keep going! I went to a hot yoga class tonight and am planning to get my miles and daily moves in tomorrow. Hope you all had a great Monday 💖
Repost from @practice.joy During practice today, I did one chaturanga. ONE. And I am thrilled ✨🙌🏼✨
I am improving. I am getting stronger. I can feel it and I have just only started 🙏🏼
Less than 2 weeks ago, I couldn’t even do a modified chaturanga with my knees down. I felt like my arms were going to give out on me and it hurt around my incision to do any form of cobra. Today, I was able to do modified chaturangas throughout class and full cobra without any sensitivity. I was feeling strong so towards the end, I went for it and did ONE #FBF#practiceJOY#itstartswithone
