I don’t know about you but I recently noticed that I find it so hard to be ok with just where I am right now and what I’m doing right in this moment .... (everything that yoga teaches us I know 😛) But, everyday life deals us a lot of noise, business, goal setting, thinking, working and constantly striving to ‘be more’. I realised I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist and I never want to do anything unless I know I can give it my all and I’m constantly dreaming of things I want to do, which is taking me away from everything I’ve achieved already.
Someone said something recently which caught my attention, ‘we’re all so concerned with becoming someone, achieving more, being successful, being important ... but why are you worrying about being ... because you already are. Just let yourself be’...... So simple, yet so true and hearing that it makes me just want to take a huge deep breath.
It’s great having goals but make sure you’re sitting also appreciating where you are and how far you’ve come.
Take a moment, take an hour to sit in the quiet and let yourself be.
Gentle reminder - you’re already doing great 🧡
When was the last time you did something for yourself?! We are all busy, we are moms, fur moms, students, full time and/or part time workers, volunteers - we are busy. We tend to take care of others before we take care of ourselves - can we really take care of others if we haven’t taken care of ourselves first? If we don’t provide ourselves with 100% care we cannot provide others with 100% of our care. Today so something for yourself, whether it is a 5 minute prayer, a ten minute nap, a couple moments to read a book, try that face mask that you bought months ago, sweat it out, or just to take a walk around outside. No matter what it is, take some time for yourself - you cannot pour from an empty cup. .
